Hello world!

For you, we prayed, cried, waited and trusted.

Hello world!

Dear Joa,

Your long awaited arrival is here at last. Your mom made an Instagram post of your birth yesterday and the caption was: "For you, we prayed, cried, waited and trusted.".

It's difficult to put into words how it feels to see your wife go through childbirth, endure much more pain than I ever thought possible - literally risking her life, to bring you into this world.

Then, once I held you in my arms, everything made sense. This is why. You are the reason why.

It's scary to look down at you and be overwhelmed by a feeling of NOTHING ELSE MATTERS. I would sacrifice anything for you. You are definitely my fight to fight at the moment.

I am beyond excited to share everything this world has to offer with you. The good, the bad and the ugly. But for now it's dirty nappies, burps, minimal sleep and a general feeling of helplessness. Your mom and I are figuring things out as we go, little by little.

In conclusion, here's my 5-day review of having a child: "Tough, but I can highly recommend it."
